WHo are we?
Origins of Necessary Equality (O.N.E.) was founded at Babson College in Babson Park, MA on March 6, 2008. Although this was the official date on which the Student Life Office granted special-interest housing to the group, the roots run much deeper. The beginnings of the family that was built around the founding fathers cannot be placed into one day and time. Rather, we began with a group of individuals who came together to share their cultures and beliefs with one another. Along the way, acquaintances gave way to friendships, friendships to best friends, and best friends to brothers and sisters. This community and camaraderie transformed into the organization that is still going strong today, and continues to foster positive sentiment toward the multiculturalism of our campus as the founding members did in 2008.
Our Mission
Origins for Necessary Equality (O.N.E.) aims to promote an environment where individuals from various origins can come together and share a once in a lifetime experience in a community that supports each member and the culture that they represent. The community as a whole can then embark on a journey together to create new memories through living and learning in an academic community while giving back to Babson through various events and programs.
Our goals
- Provide a safe space for marginalized groups to feel comfortable, validated, and supported.
- Educate, spread awareness, and encourage dialogue on issues facing marginalized groups on the Babson campus.
- Actively work to build community with the goal of making campus more inclusive.
